Blounts Braces
What to Expect
Blounts braces are made from a tracing of the patients leg. The first visit will consist of an evaluation, measurements and tracing of the leg(s). The measurements are used to fabricate the plastic shells of the brace(s) and allow the metal uprights to be contoured to the patient. The brace are then attached to shoes and fit to patient.
Most physician's recommend wearing the Blounts Brace(s) during daytime hours when the patient is walking.
Patients are seen for 45 day follow ups to ensure proper fit and alignment of the braces as the legs change.
